Conferences, workshops, and lectures
New Profile is connected to, and collaborates with, a wide network of activists, human rights workers, professionals, and researchers who deal with various aspects of militarism, with the hope of advancing a broad critical discourse. The movement organizes conferences, workshops, tours, and cultural activities on a regular basis for the general public or for specific audiences, offering a rich variety of workshops and lectures which you can book–most of them free of charge.
Lectures on militarism
You can schedule basic lectures on militarism in Israel and New Profile’s activity, or choose a lecture which focuses on a specific aspect of militarism, in order to critically examine the consequences of militarism on Israeli society. Examples for topics of our lectures:
- Basic lecture - Militarism in Israel society
- Militarism and education
- Militarism and the media
- Militarism and economics
- Militarism and gender
- Psychological consequences of military service and militarism
- Tracking and social gaps in the military
We will be glad to work with you to plan the lecture’s content and length according to the nature of the planned meeting.
Workshops
New Profile organizes moderated lectures for existing groups, or for groups which meet specifically to learn about militarism. We can conduct such lectures online or in person– or hybrid. We run one-off or ongoing workshops of different lengths on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
Tours
“Mili-tourism” – We offer guided tours in which we explore the different layers of militarism in various public spaces.
Cultural activities
Occasionally, we invite the public to cultural evenings on militarism-related topics, such as a movie screening and a lecture, or a panel with experts from different fields.
